Built by parents, for parents and schools

Why we built ClassFund

ClassFund was built by Greg & Ashely Avola, who have 2 children in school and have seen firsthand how hard school fundraising and event planning can be when good intentions still get dragged down by clunky tools, too many fees, and disconnected systems.

The Problem

Schools work hard to raise money, then lose part of it along the way

When families, PTO leaders, and school staff put time into a fundraiser, the goal is simple: raise meaningful money for the school. But too often, a portion of that money gets carved out by fundraising platforms, extra service fees, or tools that were never really designed around what schools need.

Greg & Ashely Avola felt that tension while thinking about the real work that goes into school fundraising and events. Parents are asked to give. Volunteers are asked to organize. PTO teams are asked to promote. Event leads are asked to manage signups and attendance. Then a company in the middle takes a cut or forces schools to stitch together too many separate tools.

That tradeoff never sat right. The people doing the work are the school community. The money should go as far as possible for the school community too.

The Goal

Make it easier for schools to fundraise and run events

ClassFund exists to give schools a simpler, more transparent platform for fundraising and events that keeps the experience easier to run and keeps more of the money where it belongs.

Free for schools

No subscription just to get started.

No platform cut

The mission is to avoid eating into the money a school works so hard to raise.

Better school workflow

Public pages, campaigns, events, updates, and admin tools in one place.

What ClassFund Aims To Do

A simpler and more parent-friendly system for fundraising and events

ClassFund is being built around a straightforward idea: schools should have a modern fundraising and events presence without giving away a slice of every campaign to make it happen or juggling disconnected tools to run school activities.

Protect more of the money raised

Too many school fundraising platforms chip away at donations with platform cuts, subscription costs, or layered fees. ClassFund was built to leave more of that money with schools.

Make fundraising simpler for school teams

PTO leaders, school admins, and parent volunteers already have enough to manage. ClassFund aims to reduce the coordination burden and give schools one clear place to run campaigns.

Create a better experience for families

Parents should not have to navigate clunky pages or confusing giving flows. ClassFund is meant to feel straightforward, trustworthy, and easy to share.

The Mission

Build a fundraising platform that works in service of schools, not at the expense of them

ClassFund is not trying to make school fundraising more complex. It is trying to make fundraising and events more fair, more usable, and more aligned with the people actually doing the work. The goal is to help schools raise money, run events, and coordinate support with less friction, better tools, and more confidence that the effort is worth it.
