Information We Collect
ClassFund collects information you provide directly when you create an account, build a school or campaign page, make a donation, submit a support request, or otherwise interact with the platform. This may include your name, email address, profile details, school affiliation, campaign content, donation details, and messages you send to us.
We also receive certain transaction and operational information automatically, such as IP address, browser data, device details, referral information, and platform usage activity. When donations are processed, payment information is handled by our payment processor and we may receive limited transaction metadata needed to confirm and manage the donation.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to operate ClassFund, create and manage user accounts, publish and administer fundraising campaigns, process donations, send receipts and platform notifications, respond to support requests, and improve the reliability and security of the service.
We may also use information to understand product usage, prevent misuse, enforce our policies, communicate important service updates, and comply with legal obligations.
How Information Is Shared
We share information only as reasonably necessary to run the platform and support school fundraising. This can include sharing information with service providers that help us host the site, process payments, send email, analyze usage, or provide customer support.
Campaign pages and related fundraising information are intended to be shared publicly or within school communities, so information you choose to place on a campaign page, update, or school profile may be visible to others. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
Donations and Payment Processing
Donations made through ClassFund are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own systems. Donation records, donor contact details, and transaction confirmation information may be retained by ClassFund to support receipts, reporting, donor communication, fraud prevention, and campaign administration.
If you make a donation, some information about that donation may be visible to the school or campaign administrators responsible for the fundraiser.
Email Communications
ClassFund may send account-related emails, fundraising updates, donation receipts, support responses, and other operational messages. Some messages are essential to the service, while others may include campaign-related communications based on your activity or subscription preferences.
Where available, you may use unsubscribe or preference controls included in those emails. Even if you opt out of some messages, we may still send important transactional or service-related communications.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the platform, support schools and campaigns, maintain financial and transactional records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.
Retention periods can vary depending on the type of information, the nature of the relationship, and operational or legal requirements.
Your Choices
You may be able to update certain account information through your profile or by contacting us. You can also reach out if you want to request deletion of your account or ask questions about the information associated with you.
We may need to retain certain records even after a deletion request where required for legal, accounting, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate operational reasons.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you believe your account or information has been compromised, please contact us promptly at the email listed on this page.
Children
ClassFund is built to support school fundraising, but the service is intended to be used by adults such as school administrators, teachers, parents, guardians, and donors. We do not intentionally design the platform for direct use by young children without adult involvement.
If you believe personal information from a child has been submitted inappropriately, please contact us so we can review the situation.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational updates. When we make material changes, we may revise the effective date and take other steps we consider appropriate to provide notice.
